Students without Tdap vaccination will be sent home

FRESNO, Calif.

A new state law requires all seventh through twelfth graders to get the shot. Parents can sign a waiver to forego the vaccine. On Monday morning teachers will receive a list of students who haven't been vaccinated. Those kids will be removed from class and their parents will be contacted to pick them up.

Students will not be allowed back into school until they are up to date on their shot. As of Friday, Central Unified has about 350 students who have not been vaccinated. In the Visalia Unified School District about 850 still need the shot.

Other districts such as Fresno and Clovis Unified have until Wednesday to get the Tdap vaccine.
