A look at the hottest Halloween costumes

FRESNO, California

According to the National Retail Federation, vampire, pirate and zombie costumes are expected to be adult, top sellers this year. The survey says the average American is expected to spend more than $70 on Halloween candy, costumes and décor, bringing total spending to more than $6.5 billion.

Marco Serna is out shopping at the Spirit store in north Fresno. He's not into Jack Sparrow, inspired pirate costumes, but he is considering a zombie get-up this year. Serna says, "I love zombies. Everyone should be a zombie!" He's willing to spend whatever it takes for the perfect costume.

Spirit store manager, Aaron Waldrum, says even though trick-or-treating is usually associated with children, adult costumes tend to beat out children's sales.
