Animals and future farmers take center-stage at fair

FRESNO, Calif.

On Saturday, 4-H and Future Farmers Of America students auctioned off the animals they have been raising all year.

Besides selling their animals, different awards were given out.

Goats, sheep and other animals are being auctioned off.

Most will be purchased by butchers.

Last year the auctions made nearly 800-thousand dollars in sales for the students.

A fan-favorite returned to the Big Fresno Fair this year - mutton bustin'.

Several kids showed off their sheep riding skills for the crowd on Saturday.

Some were able to hold on a little longer than others but they all gave it a good try.

At the end the kids who stayed on the longest got a nice ribbon for their efforts.

Mutton bustin' continues tomorrow at 12:30.
