Firefighters showing support for cancer awareness

FRESNO, Calif.

The Fresno Fire Department kicked off a two-week program where they will be wearing pink shirts and jackets to show their support for cancer awareness.

The Guardians Of The Ribbon, Fresno County Pink Heals chapter also came out to celebrate, along with their "pink heals" fire truck.

The fire truck was donated by the Clovis Fire Department in support of the movement.

The truck is signed by people who's lives have been touched by cancer and organizers say it inspires volunteers.

"We've had people who would say we want to be involved, what do we need to do to volunteer with you. This truck just exudes love and support for people and they wanna get involved," Lisa Benham, President of Pink Heals, said.

The pink fire truck will make an appearance at upcoming events like the Clovis Rodeo and the Light The Night walk at Woodward Park.
