Drive through flu shot clinic in Madera County

FRESNO, Calif.

Officials at the Madera County Health Department are encouraging everyone over six months old to get a flu shot this season. And they're trying to make the process as easy as possible.

A steady stream of people drove through the Madera County Fairgrounds Thursday for a free flu vaccine at fast-food speed.

Nurses delivered the shots through car windows and on buses after asking a few quick questions.

This is the second drive through flu shot clinic held in the city of Madera this season, and both have had huge turnouts.

Van Do-Reynoso, Public Health Director says the vaccine is especially important for children, the elderly, and those with chronic health problems. But she recommends everyone take advantage of the free shots, while supplies last. Health experts say this simple step can save lives.

Flu shots are also available at the Madera County Health Department.
