The pursuit started at the Welcome Inn Hotel on Parkway near Belmont in West Central Fresno. And it ended at Crystal and Oleander in Southwest Fresno.

Action News had the only camera at the scene as the injured suspect was put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital. Fresno Police say he hurt himself while trying to get away from them.

The pursuit started after officers went to the Welcome Inn to arrest /*Aries Hall*/, 26, for being a parolee at large. That's when authorities say the known gang member tried to run over an officer.

Keith Foster, Fresno Police Deputy Chief said, "He threw the vehicle in reverse directly toward one of our officers and struck a patrol vehicle. Witnesses who were present at the scene observed Mr. Hall in possession of a handgun as officers approached. One of our officers fired one round striking the vehicle."

That bullet did not hit Hall. In fact investigators say he kept driving and threw a loaded gun out of his car window. They say he later got out of the car and started running away, but hurt himself as he tried to jump over a barbed wire fence.

Officers caught up to Hall and arrested him on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
