Margot Kim serves as Grand Marshall of Red Ribbon Week

CLOVIS, Calif.

"I want you to remember the promise you made this week -- to be drug free," said Action News AM Live Anchor Margot Kim.

Kim served as the Grand Marshall of Wednesday's Red Ribbon Week for Weldon Elementary in Clovis. The parade featured marching bands and dance teams from a few Clovis schools.

The annual event is meant to encourage children to say no to drugs. Red ribbon week is observed around the country, in honor of a D.E.A. agent killed while working undercover in Mexico in 1985. By wearing red, Americans are demonstrating their opposition to drugs.
