Northern California struck by 2 earthquakes

BERKELEY, Calif.

The U.S. Geological Survey says it hit around 5:36 a.m. Thursday and was centered about a mile east of Berkeley.

Dozens of people throughout the Bay area reported feeling the temblor on the USGS's website, but a police and fire dispatcher said she had not received any reports of damage or injuries.

At 11:37 p.m. Wednesday, a 4.8-magnitude quake struck in the Sierra Nevada about 90 miles northeast of Sacramento.

A Nevada County sheriff's dispatcher in Truckee says it was a rolling quake and no damages or injuries were reported.

The Berkeley area was struck by two small earthquakes last week.
