Police say they tried to pull over the 19-year-old suspect on Alluvial for a routine traffic stop.
They say he stopped cooperating with police and drove off.
Police chased him down Alluvial to Sunnyside, where they say the suspect made a fast turn and lost control of his car.
The driver crashed into a tree and fence. He was not seriously hurt.
The impact was so hard the engine flew out of the car and landed a few feet away.
