David Hasselhoff's legendary chest hair has earned him a place of fame among marine life.

According to the BBC, British scientists have named a newly-discovered sub-species of the yeti crab after the Baywatch actor, all because they both share hairy chests.

The new species found in the Atlantic has been dubbed the Hoff. This is a file picture of the yeti crab, though not The Hoff species.

It's still waiting to get a more scientific name.
