The Fresno County Board of Supervisors is inviting letters of interest, with qualifying resumes, for their use in determining the best appointee to fill the remaining unexpired term for Fresno County Clerk. The position becomes available January 20, 2012 and applicants must be able to assume the duties of the position no later than January 27. The County Clerk also serves as Fresno County's election official and registrar of voters. To be considered for this appointment applicants must be a registered voter of the County of Fresno at the time of appointment and must have, at a minimum, four (4) years of experience at a management level in California elections.

Section 23 of the Charter of the County of Fresno states "…whenever a vacancy occurs in any elective county…office, the Board of Supervisors shall fill such vacancy and the appointee shall hold the office for the full unexpired term of his predecessor and until his successor is elected and qualified."

Annual salary for this position is $117,905, plus benefits.
