Protest in front of the Mexican Consulate in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

Members of the Indigenous Front of Binational Organizations stood in front the Mexican Consulate's office Saturday asking the Mexican Government to help indigenous people living in the State of Chihuahua. They say the indigenous communities there are suffering and have been ignored by the Mexican government.

"Indigenous community's in Mexico and other parts have always been discriminated against and not always been provided with the proper attention. So now is the time and people are dying because they don't have food and things to eat," said Sarait Martinez with the Indigenous Front of Binational Organizations.

Saturday's protest coincided with similar events in San Diego and Los Angeles.
