Sheriff's deputy turns son in after attack in Chicago

CHICAGO

Michael Palomino is a sheriff's deputy in Chicago. He recognized his 17-year-old son as the only assailant whose face was not covered in a video on YouTube.

"I am in law enforcement myself. The right thing was to turn him in," Palomino said. "I don't regret turning him in. Now, he has to suffer the consequences."

Palomino's son is the oldest of the seven suspects. He is the only one who is being charged as an adult and he is the only one in jail.

The victim suffered a bloody nose and lots of cuts and bruises, but he is going to be OK.
