Clovis moves forward with new general plan

FRESNO, Calif.

The city's general plan hasn't been revised since 1993.

During a nearly 5 hour planning commission meeting Thursday night, the public had a chance to comment on the new proposal.

The most contentious issue is the proposed open space buffer between rural residents who live in Fresno County just east of Harlan Ranch and smaller homes that could be built nearby under the new general plan.

Commissioners are recommending a 100 foot buffer. Rural homeowners were hoping for 200 feet.

The proposed general plan now moves on to the city council. They're expected to take a vote on February 13.
