Visalia Police say at about 5 p.m. on Saturday a man and woman in their 50s were working under the hood of a Ford Explorer on South Central Street when a car pulled up and several people opened fire.

Lt. Brian Winter with the Visalia Police Department said, "The car is being described as a light, compact, vehicle. It stopped briefly in the road before the shots were fired."

The victims were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. Detectives say the man was shot two times in the arm and once in the head. Police say they are both in stable condition. Neighbors tell Action News they are frightened to live in the area.

Visalia Police say Saturday's shooting is not related to the Friday's shooting at Visalia Mall.
