S.E. Fresno senior citizens enjoy snow day

FRESNO, Calif.

Some residents at Twilight Haven Senior Living Community thought they might never get the chance to see snow again. That all changed Friday when the YMCA Camp at Sequoia Lake volunteered to truck down some of the white stuff for seniors to enjoy.

There were plenty of snowballs and even a cute snowman with a yellow scarf.

"Some of them grew up in the Midwest or on the East Coast so they've had enough snow. But when I gave them the opportunity to throw one at me they decided they'd come out," Twilight Haven Activities Director Cheryl Taylor said.

Students at Fresno Pacific University also helped residents enjoy the fun, and everyone received a knitted snowcap donated by Fresno's Gap Ministries.
