5, including toddler, wounded in Vallejo shooting

VALLEJO, Calif.

The shooting occurred Monday night, when at least one man went into Tina's Nails shop and opened fire, according to police. It's not clear who his target was, and police have not established a motive for the shooting.

Another man inside the nail salon shot back, and the two men and a third suspect continued the shootout outside, Sgt. Kevin Hamrick said.

"All the armed suspects left the store on foot and a running gun battle continued down city streets," Hamrick said.

Multiple stores in the area were struck by gunfire and suffered broken glass. Police recovered about two dozen shell casings.

Hamrick said the toddler, a girl, was in critical condition but is expected to survive. The other four victims, two men and two women, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police have arrested one person in connection with the shooting and are looking for at least two others. Their identities have not been released.
