Ricky Manning Jr. hired by Edison High

FRESNO, Calif.

Edison High School Principal Brian Wall announced Manning's hiring on Monday morning.

Manning is an Edison High School graduate and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2003. During his professional career he played with the Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, and St. Louis Rams. He also played in two Super Bowls.

"It's a great day when we can welcome back one of our graduates to lead our football team," Hall said in a Fresno Unified media release. "Mr. Manning was a standout at Edison not only on the football field, but as a student - he brings experience and heart that will benefit our student athletes greatly."

Manning replaces Tim McDonald, who has been hired as the Defensive Coach for the Fresno State Bulldogs Football Team.
