The incident happened Friday night, on Sierra near Villa.
Clovis Police say Ruben Gonzalez, 33, of Fresno was under the influence when he crashed his vehicle into the power pole around 11 p.m. His car also jumped the curb, and ended up crashing into a vehicle parked in front of a nearby home.
A neighbor says she was watching television when she heard screeching tires and a loud crash. When she went outside, the driver asked her what happened, and blamed the accident on something else.
Crews worked through the night to restore power to the neighborhood. The lights came back on around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
