Fire fighters call 2nd house fire in 2 days suspicious

FRESNO, Calif.

Around 5 p.m. Sunday night, flames were still shooting through the roof of the home. Fire fighters say the house has been remodeled, and at some point more rooms were added on to the original structure. They said that work may not have been up to code, making it difficult for fire fighters.

The fire is similar to one from Saturday night, where an abandoned home just up the street, also burned. Neighbors believe the fires were intentionally set since eyewitnesses reported seeing kids in the area just before both fires.

"It's pretty scary -- this is directly across from us. The other was down the street, but it's scary. It's no coincidence, no coincidence at all," said eyewitness Amber Hubble.

"The fire from yesterday was undetermined. I believe that we called out additional personnel to come look at this because we've had multiple fires in this area of a suspicious nature," said Bob Van Tassel with the Fresno Fire Department.

Because neighbors say they saw two teenagers running from the area, police were also called out to investigate, but it's unclear if officers have been able to talk with those teens.

Where or how this fire started is no yet known. No injuries have been reported.
