Citrus production is taking a hit across the country including in California.

A report from the U.S.D.A. estimates total citrus production is down in the U.S. for the 2011-2012 season. The report shows citrus growers will produce over 11-million tons of lemons and oranges. That's down from the previous season.

California's production is down as well. Citrus growers in the state are reporting an 8-percent decrease from the previous year. Winter freezes in several states caused significant damage to lemon and orange crops.
