Driver charged in deadly Del. hit-and-run

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 7, 2012

Twenty-nine-year-old Tiffany Reeves of Elsmere surrendered to state police Friday. She was charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death and driving while suspended or revoked. She was released on $1,000 secured bond.

Troopers say Reeves was the first driver to hit 58-year-old Edith McFarland of Wilmington, who was crossing the street in her wheelchair.

McFarland was ejected from her wheelchair by the impact and then hit by two other vehicles.

Police say all three vehicles fled the scene. McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.
