The accident happened at the intersection of Madera and Shields in Fresno County. Officers say the driver of a Saturn drove through a stop sign and hit another vehicle.
Juan Ovalle, 41, and Sergio Cisneros, 23, were ejected from the Saturn. They both died and three others were injured.
Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies say they found stolen copper wire in the Saturn, though it's unclear where it came from.
