In fact, UC Merced is unique in that its the only UC campus to accept fewer students this year.
The reason? It was built just 6 years ago and officials say the campus must expand in order to handle more students.
The university is gearing up for Bobcat Day on Saturday, where prospective students will tour the campus.
Officials say construction on student housing is expected to be completed next fall. That's when they plan to open up enrollment to previous levels.
