Merced Police report the woman was asleep on her couch on Cascade Creek Avenue when two men came in through an unlocked sliding glass door. Police say the suspects woke the woman up and demanded jewelry and cash. When she said she had none, police say one of the suspects hit her on the head with a handgun.
The victim could not provide a very good description of the suspects except to say they wore all black clothes. Merced police remind everyone to lock all doors and windows.
The woman was not injured.
