Even though the Porterville Fair has been going on for decades, this is only the second year the fair has been at its new fairgrounds on west Teapot Dome Avenue.
This year's theme is "live social networking" -- and what organizers mean by this is encouraging kids to not interact over their phones or computers but face to face and here at the fairgrounds.
This year's fair features roughly 100 vendors, dozens of carnival rides and twelve food stands. Organizers have made some improvements and attendees can already see the difference.
The livestock tent was filled with dozens of Porterville students-- all getting ready for Thursday's FFA showings.
The fair will be open until 11pm Wednesday and Thursday night and until midnight this weekend. The Porterville Fair will be going on until Sunday.
