Dozens shave their heads at Buchanan High School

FRESNO, Calif.

The Buchanan High School teachers and students shaved their heads in front of the entire school during lunch. They're doing it to spread awareness about the high cost of cancer and terminal illnesses, while raising money for the cause.

One of the students decided to do the buzz cut in memory of her dad, who died from cancer, eight years ago.

"He did so much for me and he's gone now," Kelly Chu said. "I just want to be able to give back to all these people who have cancer."

Friday's group buzz cut session is part of the Saint Baldrick's program, which has raised more money for childhood research than any other organization.
