Ex-Hanford cop makes court appearance for drugs

FRESNO, Calif.

/*Ernesto Servin*/, 30, is a former Hanford police officer. Friday he arrived at the Kings County courthouse to answer to drug, weapons and perjury charges.

Last month the district attorney's office says it discovered marijuana, methamphetamine, oxycontin and a gun in Servin's personal car. Investigators had received a tip from the public about the officer's possible illegal activity.

Servin refused to comment about the charges. In court, he asked that a public defender be hired to represent him. He'll be back in court later this month where he's expected to enter a plea to the felony charges.
