European Grapevine Moth quarantines lifted in 4 counties

FRESNO, Calif.

Federal officials have declared the European Grapevine Moth is no longer present in Fresno, Mendocino, Merced and San Joaquin counties. The conclusion has been reached after two years of testing.

The U.S. Department Of Agriculture says quarantines in those four affected counties can be lifted. Quarantines remain in effect in Napa, Solano, Sonoma, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Nevada counties.

The moth first was detected in Napa County in 2009.
