Brush fires kept firefighters busy in Fresno Co

FRESNO, Calif.

The first broke out at Woodward Park in Northeast Fresno around noon. The Fresno Fire Department says the flames charred about an acre of land on the south end of the park near the lake and a paved trail.

Some dry grass was burned and a few trees were charred. About six trucks helped knock down the flames. At this point firefighters don't know the cause.

The second fire broke out on Shaw near DeWolf in Fresno County around 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

Cal Fire says it burned about two acres of grass, along with an outbuilding and some debris. Crews were able to fully contain the fire in less than an hour.
