The Environmental Working Group released its annual "dirty dozen" report. The report ranks the fruits and vegetables with the highest pesticide residue based on data from the Department of Agriculture and the F.D.A. Apples took the top spot, with celery coming in second.
The study tested samples as they normally would be eaten -- meaning after they're washed and peeled. Among the cleanest produce you can buy are onions and sweet corn.
