Kaiser Permanente begins room and access upgrades

FRESNO, Calif.

Part of the remodel project includes upgrades to patient rooms and improving patient access. Construction is already underway at the Kaiser Medical Center on Fresno and Alluvial in Northeast Fresno. New interior signs will also make it easier for patients and the public to find where they need to go.

"We have a new design standard called the total health environment. And we're really looking at transforming our facilities from the historical sterile environment to an environment that supports a much more healing environment for our members and visitors," said Fresno Team Manager Paul Tylar.

Starting in August, patients staying on the third floor of the Fresno hospital will see rooms with brighter colors, flat-screen TV's and pull-out beds for family members who stay with patients overnight.
