The Asian Real Estate Association of America held a community workshop. Experts were on hand to help people learn more about the home buying process, foreclosure fraud prevention and how to solve credit problems to get minority groups on the road to home ownership.
"Our mission is to promote sustainable home ownership. AREAA as an organization we want to bring the information to a specific community, which is the minority community, specifically those in the Asian American community because we feel education a lot of times is not directed at that part of the community," AREAA president Mark Chu said.
There were also loan officers on hand for people wanting to start the process. Workshops were offered in several different languages including Hmong, Spanish and Punjabi.
