Authorities have seen a growing number of inflatable and assembled pools in people's yards. They say most of the pools are unfenced, full of water, or unattended.
Officers are going door to door reminding residents that unsupervised kids can fall in and drown.
Orange Cove Police Chief Frank Steenport said, "It is pushing the issue where we have to take proactive steps to educate and get these pools made safe or get them removed to an area where they would be protected."
Officers say they will give verbal and written warnings before they issue citations to residents.
