College ag programs see increased enrollment

FRESNO, Calif.

University officials all over the country say they're seeing a significant increase in enrollment at colleges of agriculture.

At Penn State -- an agriculture powerhouse -- enrollment is up more than 40-percent since 2004. Iowa State University is expected to surpass an enrollment record set 35 years ago.

Officials say the main reason for the boom is students opting for a major that offers a clear path to a job after graduation.
