Freewheel Project participants receive bikes

FRESNO, Calif.

One hundred kids participated in Tony Hoffman's Freewheel Project. Over the past several weeks, the kids attended the summer camp meant to help teach children how to ride safely, while encouraging them to lead drug-free lifestyles.

Tony Hoffman, the man behind this camp, says he hopes his students will be able to use this experience as they deal with bigger challenges later in life.

"These are the kinds of things they remember to help them get through it there was some point in their lives they did something, over came something they were scared of the track but they did it...and built self confidence...it will be the reminder they have that to get them out of what they're going through," Hoffman said.

Plans are in the works for next year's Freewheel Project.
