Fresno police have arrested the second suspect in the brutal slaying of a convenience store clerk.

Dwayne Dodson, 35, was taken into custody Friday morning by local law enforcement. Police say he's responsible for the shooting death of Kashmir Manes.

The 45-year-old victim was working at the Super 1 Food and Liquor store in Southeast Fresno at the time of the murder.

Christopher Roberts was arrested on Sunday for beating a store employee at the time of the botched robbery.

Investigators say the suspects went into the store last Thursday night but never made off with any cash. The store has been closed since the incident as the family copes with the loss.

"You cannot replace a soul, you cannot replace a husband, you cannot replace a son," Family friend Ike Grewal said. "The family continues to mourn."

Funeral services were also held Friday for Kashmir Manes.
