A new $40 million dollar camera located on a Chilean mountain top is giving astronomers an amazing view of extremely distant galaxies.

The Dark Energy Camera is capable of seeing 8 billion light years into space.

Scientists believe dark energy makes up nearly 75 percent of the universe, yet they have very little idea what it is.

Astronomers say these images will help them learn more about the strange forces driving the evolution of the universe.
