Coroner report on Philip Dhanens released

FRESNO, Calif.

18-year-old Philip Dhanens died on Labor Day weekend after drinking too much at a fraternity party.

Fresno County Coroner Dr. David Hadden has revealed that Dhanens blood alcohol level was .36. That's more than four times the legal limit.

The county's chief pathologist, Dr. Venu Ghopal, said the young man died from swelling of the brain caused by acute alcohol intoxication.

The toxicology tests found there were no other drugs in Dhanen's system.

Fresno police are still investigating the death. Dhanens was in his first year of college at Fresno State. He was from Bakersfield.
