Shooting: 2 killed at Southern California business, gunman sought

DOWNEY, Calif.

Downey police say the deceased victims are supervisors at the business, believed to be United States Fire Protection on the 8700 block of Cleta Street.

Lt. Dean Milligan with Downey police said the initial call about the business shooting came in at about 11:12 a.m. About five minutes later, police received another call about a second shooting at a home about a block and a half west of the business. Milligan said the two locations are directly related, but he did not say exactly how they were linked.

Milligan said a male victim was found dead at the business location, and a female victim was found dead at the residence. Their relationship and identities were not released.

In addition to the two deceased, three others were wounded in the shooting and transported to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available.

A search is under way for at least one suspect, described as a black male. He is believed to be in a stock, black Chevy Camaro with California license plate number 6LEA010. Milligan said the car is missing its front license plate.
