NJ school bus driver indicted in DUI case

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) - November 4, 2012

A Burlington County jury handed up the charge against 47-year-old Carole Crockett on Friday. Prosecutors say the Shamong resident was working for a private transportation company when she was arrested in November 2011.

As Crockett drove 25 students home from the Westampton Middle School, many of them texted or called their parents to report that Crockett was driving erratically. Several parents then called school officials, who called police.

Authorities soon found Crockett at another school, where she had gone to pick up another group of students.

Crockett remains free on $85,000 bail. She could not be reached for comment Sunday.
