Fresno Catholic School is closing their doors

FRESNO, Calif.

Earlier today, school leaders met with the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fresno, who announced his decision to close the campus in June.

Low enrollment has been a problem with the school for years and operating costs are now too high to justify keeping the school open.

We caught up with parents tonight who say they're disappointed to hear about the closure. Parent Robert Mikel said it was a formative school as far as preparing them.

"Catholic schools provide different opportunities for our students, something I wish they would think harder about, leaving this facility open," Mikel said.

A letter was sent out to parents and students, informing them of the decision and that they are welcome to join any of the four other catholic schools in the area.
