Mexican tomato growers sign trade agreement with U.S.

FRESNO, Calif.

The Mexican government says its tomato growers have signed and implemented a new agreement with the U.S. over trade in fresh tomatoes. The agreement was proposed last month, and submitted to a public comment period.

Mexican officials say the final agreement was signed earlier this week, claiming the deal provides a framework of "certainty and stability" for their growers.
