Valley children attend Peach Blossom Festival

FRESNO, Calif.

The Peach Blossom Festival is now in its 55th year. From Livingston to Delano, children from 200 elementary schools participate. The event was created to help young people gain knowledge and appreciation of literature through oral interpretation and performance.

Caroline Sowers, peach blossom coordinator said, "It's a good way to get introduced to public speaking and get some of them out of their shell. They're not nervous...more excited."

The Peach Blossom Festival is a two day event. Students also get a chance to meet some of Fresno state's popular athletes.
