Child pornography arrest in Merced

FRESNO, Calif.

Detective Jeff Eastman of the departments High Tech crimes unit and a member of ICAC, Internet Crimes against Children is the lead investigator.

The investigation started over two month ago when Eastman was notified that approximately 25 files of child pornography was being down loaded to a computer with an IP address coming back to the suspect's residence. After obtaining enough information, a search warrant was obtained for the residence. Inside the suspect's bedroom, detectives found a desk top computer. A preliminary forensic search was done on the computer, which revealed child pornography. Other computers and electrical equipment was taken.

During questioning, Ramos wouldn't admit that the desk top computer was his, but stated he was the primary user of the computer. Ramos grandmother stated she had bought the computer for Ramos. Ramos admitted to watching adult pornography from the desk top, but denied to watching or down loading child pornography. Ramos then asked the investigator why they weren't arresting the individual who makes the child pornography. When asked if he likes watching a child get raped, Ramos answered, "That's the nature of man."

A photograph of suspects can be obtained through the Merced County Sheriff's Department.
