What to expect from the Fresno Grizzlies this season

FRESNO, Calif.

For baseball fans it's one of the most exciting times of the year, opening day.

Chris Kutz with the Fresno Grizzlies says with opening day set for Thursday, this is the busiest time of the year behind the scenes at Chukchansi Park.

Kutz added, "Cleaning, cleaning and prepping and putting bunting up on the stadium getting tickets printed."

The players are ready to swing those bats and get the crowd cheering for the black and orange. The AAA team has been practicing and now is ready to spend the season in Fresno.

Kutz said, "We've got a lot of prospects, a lot of guys returning from last year and they're ready to play some baseball, some real baseball."

New this year fans can get an up close look at the game with the Dugout Club. There will also be from special promotions from bobble head dolls to like social Sundays, where discounted tickets will be advertised on social media.

"We are giving out a world series championship replica ring," said Kutz. "Just like the giants are giving away next tuesday on april 20th."

Grizzlies' officials say this season fans can expect some action packed games full of fun and a lot of memories for residents and their families. And you could be watching some of the greatest professional baseball player's right before they make it big.

The organization is hoping thousands of Valley residents will come out and fill the stadium for opening night. The Fresno Grizzlies are taking on the Tacoma Rainers Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
