Imports from Mexico push asparagus prices down

Current prices are worrying some California asparagus farmers.

Farmers in San Joaquin County say their asparagus beds are producing a high-quality crop. However, continuing competition from Mexican imports are causing prices to go down.

Farmers say their asparagus is generally sold at a slightly higher price, but they say it's hard to compete with cheap imports from Mexico.
