The new building is located in Visalia's Lincoln Oval Park. The rescue mission refurbished the building to provide meeting rooms and office space for local community members and faith based organizations. They also hope the center will help the homeless get back on their feet.
"We're in the midst of bringing positive activities to the park -- and so one of the ways we wanted to do that was to facilitate, or make a facility, available for community organizations and faith-based organizations to have a presence here," said Nick Anthony, Visalia Rescue Mission.
The rescue mission is leasing the building from the City of Visalia.
