Roosevelt is home to one of Central California's longest running high school mariachi bands, and they'll take the stage Saturday night.
The 14 member ensemble refers to itself as a "working student group" using the money from it's performances to pay for it's own instruments, travel expenses and costumes.
Students tell Action News the music connects them to their heritage and family members who love the genre.
The mariachi band will be joined by folklorico dancers and the Latin jazz band Saturday night at 7:00 at Roosevelt High School.
General admission is $7.00, students and seniors get in for $5.00.
