Around 1 a.m. Monday morning at Fahrens Park in North Merced, officers found a 33-year-old Hispanic man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was flown to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The victim told officers a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt was responsible. The suspect is still on the loose and Merced Police detectives say they are still looking for a motive in the shooting.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.
